is there something wrong with your ac unit?

April 21, 2020

Air Control knows that air conditioning units are designed to keep you comfortable during those hot summer months, and if something isn’t right with the unit, you’re probably going to have an unpleasant time.

In Northwest Arkansas, it’s not uncommon for the temperature to climb up near 100 degrees in the summer, so here are some clues for knowing that your air conditioning unit isn’t performing up to the standards it should be despite the heat.

Maintaining Temperature

If someone in Rogers has their unit set on 74 degrees, and it is unable to maintain that temperature and is elevated to 76 or 77 degrees, there’s probably something wrong because the units are designed to maintain the temperature you have it set at.

Higher Electric Bills

Northwest Arkansas residents never like to see their air conditioning bill skyrocket way above what they are normally paying, but it is almost always a tell-tale sign that something is wrong with the unit.

Constant Running

Let’s say someone in Fayetteville hears their unit running all the time and can’t figure out why it won’t shut off. The units are designed to kick off to allow time to recoup so they can work most effectively when they kick back on. If they’re constantly running, they will build up ice and freeze, and the unit will most likely stop working, or run poorly.
